Taron Egerton loved working with ‘hero’ Ray Liotta in a TV series
Taron Egerton said he loved working with Ray Liotta in one of the actor’s final TV roles.
Liotta dead in his sleep in May in the Dominican Republic, where he was shooting a film called Dangerous Waters.
Golden Globe winner stars alongside late actor in Apple TV+ limited series Black bird. In the psychological thriller Black Bird, Liotta plays James “Big Jim” Keene, a decorated police officer whose son Jimmy Keene (Egerton) finds himself on the wrong side of the law.

During an interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the Rocketman actor told guest host Chelsea Handler what it was like working with Liotta.
“He was sort of a hero to me, and when I read that script, there’s a very touching, really dysfunctional relationship at the core, and that’s the relationship between my character and his father,” Egerton explained. .
The 32-year-old said it was so exciting when ‘Ray agreed to do it; he read the script and accepted in less than 24 hours; he was so excited about it.
Egerton recalled the first day he met Liotta on set and their shared embrace.
“We had a few weeks of filming together, and it was a really amazing experience for me. He just brought that presence, that reality in contrast to the kind of toughness with him. He brought that incredible tenderness and love. And I’m really proud of the relationship we’ve built,” Egerton said.
