Mick returns to Scoil Mhuire for a TV series

Internationally acclaimed comedian Mick Thomas returned to his old playground last week to film part of an exciting new travel series. The Wexford native is now based in New York City and has received critical acclaim for his stand-up on America’s east coast. But he hasn’t forgotten his roots, and on his last visit home he returned to where it all began: Scoil Mhuire in Coolcotts. A former student of the school, Mick was filming an exciting new travel series “Ireland with Michael” which will air in the US and Canada later this year. The series, which is being filmed by local media company Seanchaí Productions, will see Mick traveling across Ireland to different locations to explore various cultural and culinary aspects of Ireland.

Ick’s recording journey for the travel series began at Scoil Mhuire where he introduced his audience to his former elementary school and shared many funny childhood memories from school. He was ably assisted in the recording by his nieces Triona and Evie and his nephews Ben and Daniel who frequent Scoil Mhuire.

“Everyone had a great time and we are all looking forward to the series launch on the small screen later in 2021,” Mags director Jordan said.
