(Sorry for the blurriness of a few of them--there's a new camera lens involved.)

Since so many people asked, here's the set report of "Demon Under Glass"

We awoke around 5 am and were at the set by 6 (way too early for a night person like me). The crew had been working non-stop, but we still had to wait until nearly 10:30 for the sets to be completed. Until then, the guys (Garett and Jason) spent time in the parking lot tossing a baseball and Jason even took time out to ride around on a scooter. They're really just just big kids.  Both actors showed up early for their 8 am calls and were patient as they sat through makeup and wardrobe. Since it was chilly, Garett donned an army green sweater over the scrubs and Jason, a black leather jacket to ward off the chill.

Once the sets were completed, the actors went immediately into "professional mode" and headed off for rehearsals, blocking and filming. The set was built so that filming could be done from above as well as from straight on, so there was a space above the actual set to stand and watch the proceedings.

The actors ran through their lines as the scene was lined up, lighting changed and re-directed -- added to or lessened, then each scene was blocked and angled so that editing could be done later. Then it was time for quiet and the actors began doing their thing. It was fascinating to watch Garett and Jason go from being total goof-balls to serious actors in the blink of an eye.  Deb swears Garett has a rubber face, and I think I'll have to agree with her.  It's amazing how many  different emotions/expressions you can read on his face in the span of only a few moments.

All too soon, it was time for lunch which was served in the same parking lot they tossed a baseball in prior to the beginning of the mornings filming. The food was great, and in many ways I felt like I was back in the high school cafeteria--long tables and folding chairs- but the food was better.

After the lunch break, they headed back in for more rehearsals, blocking and filming while we watched some dailies from filming a few days before. It was fascinating to watch the same scene being filmed over and over again and to see why it was done so many times and from so many different angles. It was easy to pick out some of the things, like a microphone in a scene, an actress rushing a line, etc., but some weren't as easy to spot, like noise from off-set, the line up of lights, etc.

As for the length of shoot, that day went on forever! That work is *hard*!  They finally wrapped up the days shooting around 8:15 at night and everyone was definitely ready to call it a night. Past that, I don't know what other work Deb, John and the rest of the staff had to complete, I hitched a ride and headed to the airport to head home.

I suppose the thing that stands out and impressed me most, was John and his friendliness and willingness to explain what was going on with the filming/dailies/etc., and Deb's ability to wear 15 different hats at once without crying or firing someone in a moment of frustration (not that she's prone to emotional outbursts--you just have to realize that these days go on forever, things don't go as planned and you just get downright *tired*.  So emotions can run high and sleep is a thing you get too little of.). John and Deb are absolute professionals and a joy to know, and I count myself lucky in having the chance to get to know them.

The 10 most important things I learned while in LA:

1.   Garett looks good as a redhead. (Don't ask!)

2.   You can't fit 5 people and luggage in a Chrysler LeBaron convertible.

3.   It *does* get cold in LA

4.   No matter how hard you try, things never go as planned.

5.   Cable TV and cell phone reception in LA sucks

6.   Kitty litter has more than one use

7.   You can walk forever and *still* not see any stars

8.   People in LA *are* friendly

9.   Garett has a great baseball arm

10. Everyone involved with the movie are professionals and will contribute greatly to its success
