November 5, 2001 Here are two new promo shots of Garett! As for the last audition, unfortunately, he didn't get the part. But he *is* still making the rounds and his manager feels he's a good possibility for a pilot--it's just finding the right match.
So
far as the "Poltergeist: The Legacy" co-starring role rumor, it's
still just that--a rumor. As for the restaurant co-ownership rumor,
GarettMaggart.Net is working
on verifying that now. Other than that, Garett is auditioning, working on
home improvements and playing golf. |

Still no news yet on the audition, so keep crossing your fingers. ****** Garett is in the process of having new headshots done and GarettMaggart.Net be posting them as soon as they're available. ****** Also, this site is now officially recognized by Garett and his management, but it's still "business as usual". |

August 7, 2001 Wolf pictures and additional information Garett is so excited about this event that he's going out to the park prior to the August 25th event and is "picking out" which wolf he wants his fans to help adopt. Since annual costs are approximately $4,000 to maintain just *one* wolf, supporting two for the entire year doesn't look feasible at the current donation rate. According to Debbie at the Park, here are the answers to a few of the questions that have been brought up in the last few days. Regarding the park and the reason for the event: The Moonridge Animal Park facility basically takes in animals that have no other options--they have been injured or orphaned in some way. If they were not at the facility they would have been euthanized. All the animals are all very special and well loved. The Park has lost the lease on their current property, it was a 50 year lease and it is coming to an end. The Park has been at its current location for a long time, but the owners want to sell the property. The Park has a much larger site on the other side of the lake, but they need to raise money to move and build new enclosures. Regarding the Friends of the Moonridge Zoo site: They are the Park's non-profit arm and they set the prices for the adoption fees. In order to make it affordable to everyone, they have set the adoption fees rather low. Many different people adopt the same animal for the year and are sent a picture of that animal. The adoption fees help to offset the cost of maintaining the animal. It does not pay for the entire cost of that animal's care for the year. Regarding the animal adoption auction the day of the event: Basically, each animal will be brought out for people to see and they will bid on supporting that particular animal for the year. The highest bid will get their picture with that animal and their name on a plaque on the enclosure. We are hoping for some very high bids! So you definitely don't have to restrict yourselves to the $12 price set by the non-profit organization. The basic itinerary of the event is as follows: The event will be from 3:00 in the afternoon to 7:00 at night. During this time the celebrities will be available for autographs and pictures. From 4:00 to 5:00 there will be a memorabilia and donation auction. From 5:00 to 6:00/6:30, there will be the animal adoption auction. The celebrities may take some breaks during the 3 to 7 period and they will also go on tours of the facility behind the scenes at some point. At 7:00, the Park will close and at 7:30 the mixer for the banquet will be open. The banquet begins at 8:00 and will end at an indeterminate time. Garret *has* agreed to participate in *all* of these activities and is really looking forward to them. There will also be an auction and dancing at the banquet. The price of the day event is $15 The price of the banquet is tentatively $50. Dress is casual. The tickets will be printed this week and will be available prior to/as well as the day of the event. Donation cutoff for sending to *me*, is August 18th--one week prior to the event. This will enable me to get all monies verified and a cashier's check sent to Debbie in time for the event. Of course, if you want to mail direct, there is NO cutoff. Just keep sending the Park donations! The animals will love you for it! And here is our first look at the wolves... |

Special Appearance Announced 08-02-2001 After speaking with Debbie earlier today, advising her that a number of people were donating in Garett's name, this is what was decided: Moonridge Animal Park has three grey wolves up for adoption, their names are Wakiza, which means "one who fights against all odds," Nova, which means "butterfly chaser," and Echo. Wakiza is the dominant female in the group and her sister is Nova, who is the least dominant. They are both about one and a half years old. Echo is about eight years old. There is actually going to be a animal adoption auction at the event that night, so this is a perfect idea. All donations can be sent to our non-profit organization
Debbie says her personal favorite is Wakiza and that she loves people, and she's a very beautiful wolf. So if you'd like to become the proud parent of a needy wolf--this is one way to do it. |
